New partnership between Lhasa Limited and CTR Scientific advances chemical safety assessments in Mexico

Lhasa Limited is delighted to announce a new partnership with CTR Scientific, marking a joint commitment to advancing chemical safety assessments in Mexico.

For over 40 years, Lhasa has been developing innovative, knowledge-based software in partnership with industry and regulatory bodies, supporting organisations globally in their drug development efforts. In 2024, Lhasa launched Consult Lhasa, a wholly owned subsidiary dedicated to providing expert scientific risk assessments to the pharmaceutical industry.

Based in Mexico, CTR Scientific supplies a range of laboratory products for various sectors, including life sciences, industry, clinical diagnostics, and pharmaceuticals. This collaboration reaffirms the commitment Lhasa has to supporting the scientific community in the region.

Advancing scientific progress in Mexico

Commenting on this new partnership, Maria Celeste del Fueyo, PhD, Application Scientist at Lhasa, said:

“We are especially excited to welcome CTR as our new distributor in Mexico. This partnership not only strengthens our presence in Latin America but also brings us closer to our members in this fast-evolving region, allowing us to meet the needs and requirements in Mexico in a more dedicated and customised way. We are proud to see our network grow and look forward to a successful collaboration with CTR.”

One notable area where Lhasa has been supporting members in Latin America is in understanding the risks of nitrosamine impurities within an evolving regulatory landscape. The in silico software solutions Lhasa creates provide organisations globally with a cost-effective and robust way to mitigate nitrosamine risks and facilitate ICH M7 assessments.

Miriam Torres, Product Specialist at CTR Scientific added:

“At CTR Scientific we are committed to promoting science in Mexico, it is a great honour and privilege to be an ally of the pharmaceutical industry and become the distributor in Mexico of the in silico tools Lhasa Limited provides. They will be of great help in complying with the new regulatory measures implemented in Mexico by the Federal Committee for Protection from Sanitary Risks (COFEPRIS) and addressing the new challenges that will come soon. As a Product Specialist at CTR Scientific responsible for Lhasa Limited and Consult Lhasa, it is a great pleasure to collaborate with the entire Lhasa Limited team. Together, we aim to provide innovative tools and support the pharmaceutical industry, research, and education with the scientific knowledge essential for various risk assessments and informed decision-making.”
